Bieszczady is situated in the far south-eastern part of Poland. One of the last primeval forrests and sparsely populated.

Bieszczady has a complex past, with a history of war and ethnic cleansing, which has left a dark footprint in the area. After World War I and II and the massive deportations that took place after that, the land was left empty and completely destroyed.

In 2017, the land is covered with trees. Peace seems to be everywhere. A deafening silence surrounds me. I can feel the past and the vulnerability of this beautiful land. It is confusing. The forest is impenetrable, as if it wants to keep the enemy out. At the same time, the massive trees are welcoming and embracing me, protecting me from all the evil in the world.

I have made this project for the love of this land.
